- Body Stress Release - Annabel Boys PhD, MBSRA

book nowBody Stress Release gets to the root of many back problems, persistent headaches, sciatica and joint problems as well as helping people deal better with the stresses of daily life. It is a gentle, relaxing technique, often highly effective where other techniques have failed to deliver results.
Although BSR’s roots are within the chiropractic profession, it does not use forceful manipulation of the body and clients remain fully clothed throughout sessions. Areas of stored tension are located using a series of gentle tests. Then a light, precise pressure is used to encourage your muscles to relax back to their natural state of tone.
For further information about the technique and to read case studies of how BSR has helped people see www.unlockmyback.com or call 023 9263 1012.Available Monday to Thursday. Special rates for Oasis members and QAh staff - £125 for an introductory course of three sessions (usually £150) and £38 for follow-up sessions (usually £45).

Following years of struggling with my weight, being constantly tired, battling with what I thought was irritable bowel syndrome and in the last 2 years premenstrual symptoms that were beginning to have an impact on my general wellbeing, I contacted Sarah in November 2010.
Sarah’s extensive knowledge of nutrition, supplemental, dietary and exercise advice has enabled me to re-think and plan what I eat – particularly reducing sugar levels in my food resulting in a reduction in the rush of visiting the toilet and raising my energy levels.
Sarah’s advice is clear and practical. Her contribution in encouraging me to make the changes in a straightforward, simple and focused way has enabled me to invest more time in my body and the benefits are beginning to speak for themselves.
After years of struggling with so many ailments I would strongly recommend Sarah to anyone who wants to see and feel the benefits of nutritional therapy.

- Health Coach - Annabel Boys
book nowWe are delighted to announce that we are now offering health coaching at Oasis (see www.unlockmyhealth.co.uk).
In recent years health coaching has rocketed in popularity in the United States as a means of supporting people to take more responsibility for their own health. The link between poor health and diet and lifestyle is now well established, with some studies suggesting that over 70% of medical costs are due to four, entirely controllable factors (tobacco use, physical inactivity, food choices and poor stress management). The truth of the matter is that most of us know what we should be doing for ourselves, but for one reason or another just can't quite make a plan and stick to it. Year after year we resolve to lose weight, get fit, start eating better etc, but somehow the good intentions don’t stick. Health Coaches are knowledgeable advisors who provide ongoing support and guidance to realise these intentions. To make changes that are suitable and sustainable for you at this time in your life.
With a PhD from King’s College London (in Psychological Medicine), Annabel Boys has nearly 20 years experience working with stress management and health behaviour (see http://www.unlockmyhealth.co.uk/about-annabel-boys for more details). She has recently completed her training as a holistic health coach with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and will be offering both group and 1:1 coaching at Oasis from January 2013. Contact her at info@unlockmyhealth.co.uk for more information or come to one of her workshops (http://www.unlockmyhealth.co.uk/events/2013/01/health-coaching-talk-at-oasis-qa-hospital).
